Enelsa Díaz

Managing Attorney

Enelsa Díaz is a Managing Attorney at Greater Hartford Legal Aid (GHLA). She supervises GHLA’s Family Violence and Sexual Assault work, including the Restraining Order program, the Family Law unit, and the Immigration unit. She is also co-chair of GHLA’s Anti-Discrimination, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee since 2016.

Enelsa sits on the Executive Committee of the Connecticut Hispanic Bar Association and is a member of the Lawyers Collaborative for Diversity where she serves a mentor to law students of color. She is frequently asked to speak and train attorneys and advocates concerning domestic violence throughout the state. In 2015, she was honored by Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence as a First 100+ recipient for demonstrating leadership and commitment to ending domestic violence in Connecticut.

In December 2017, Enelsa was lead counsel in a case before the CT Supreme Court which changed the landscape of Special Immigrant Juvenile Status proceedings in this state, affording additional protection to thousands of youths residing here.
Enelsa is a 1st generation Dominican-American and is fluent in Spanish. She is a graduate of The University of Hartford, summa cum laude, and of Western New England University School of Law.
