
Jamey Bell
Jamey Bell has been the Executive Director of Greater Hartford Legal Aid since 2013. She has more than 40 years’ experience as an attorney in the areas of health care access, education, and child protection. She provides day-to-day oversight of GHLA and leads GHLA’s pardons advocacy. She serves on the CBA House of Delegates and Pro Bono Committee, the Connecticut Judicial Branch Access to Justice Commission, and as an Incorporator of the Hartford Public Library.
Previously she was appointed Child Advocate for the State of Connecticut in 2012-2013 and served as the Executive Director of Connecticut Voices for Children from 2008-2012.
She was an attorney at GHLA for 26 years and was lead counsel in successful federal litigation to compel the Connecticut Department of Social Services to provide adequate dental care to children in the Medicaid program.
Jamey Bell has a B.A. degree from the University of Michigan and a J.D. degree from Northeastern University School of Law.
