Ryan V. Powell

Ryan V. Powell joined Greater Hartford Legal Aid as a Staff Attorney in 2020. Ryan represents victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault in Immigration matters. Ryan assists clients in obtaining numerous forms of humanitarian relief and represents clients in all aspects of Special Immigrant Juvenile Status petitions. He handles naturalization and adjustment of status cases. He is also engaged in community outreach and youth mentoring throughout the greater Hartford area.

Prior to joining Greater Hartford Legal Aid, Ryan focused his practice on defending insurers, employers, and third-party administrators against workers’ compensation claims. Ryan received his bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Connecticut before going on to earn his Juris Doctor from the University’s School of Law.
